I was expecting to find a food truck on the side of the road but instead found a beautiful restaurant nestled between gardens with a chrome airstream camper parked in the back. That was the taco truck. The atmosphere was great. The live music and the free water cooler from the main restaurant were major perks. Garbos had tons of great photo ops spots, but I was too busy with the food to think about taking advantage of them. We ordered the Cayo Fish Taco – no shell, of course – and they were golden brown, flaky and cooked to perfection. The side of cabbage, jalapeño and cilantro with Caribbean sauce was a nice keto-friendly option instead of the traditional chips. The price was higher than average but portions were bigger than expected.
This was our last stop on our way out of Key West. I had heard of this spot but didn't believe the hype. For a bit of a background, we had been searching for the best smoked fish dip on the island and after a few disappointing too-much-mayo experiences we had given up... until we found Keys Fisheries. The fish was Smokey, lemony and the flavors were not overpowered by mayonnaise. The crab dip was great too. We can't wait to come back and treat ourselves to the best fish dip on the island.
We brought the kids along for this trip and after a four-hour snorkeling adventure, everyone needed some fuel. The Waterfront Brewery was just outside the dock and had an amazing waterfront view. We skipped the beer and went straight for the food. There was something on the menu for everyone, and the server was pretty accommodating with our special requests. We ordered a fish dip and the Chop House Burger with no bun. The burger was cooked perfectly. My favorite part of Waterfront Brewery was the view and the eclectic shops near the restaurant. They truly have one of the best views in Key West.
